The Crowd is made of up people who like arts and crafts and home-wares.
It's not my favourite market as the traffic flow into the market is pretty slow; the people that attend this market are generally locals, its off the motorway and tends to bring in mostly the grand mas and grand dads. It s a great day for the family, as the markets offer jumpy castles, typical fair food, stalss that offer timberwares to patterned cushions and even
pony rides.Compared to Manly yesterday, today was much more laid back and very cruisey.
Today was so cruisey, kel was busily sewing a gift for a friend ( cannot mention the gift just in case they read this blog.)
Kel set up shop inside one of the pavilions-the Douglas pickering pavilion -which was located need the "food alley".
Interesting to note, of all the food stalls there, not one offered sandwiches and the only freshly squeezed juice was lemonade. Maybe i was blind, but surely a market needs to offer some healthy alternatives than the "fat" food stalls? Or is it because of the lack of good food operators actually out there? hmmm i am sure some entrepreneur will fill this gap soon.
We had a steady steam of customers, the wind tunnel created by the pavilion ,which made our day a little bearable. The singlet winners for today were the lovebirds and skulls-total polar opposites and very popular with the late thirty parents. We had one parent tell us their child would love the skulls as it would match nicely with his Mohawk. If you saw your child playing with a child wearing a skulls singlet an Mohawk in a playground, you would be thinking- naughty kid or wish my kid looked that awesome!
Today was an average day, not as good as Manly, the crowds at St. Ives were more arts and crafts people than awesome handmade fashion fans. We are on a break till Feb. Kel heads off to India and me to Brisbane for a month.
We will be posting new designs in the coming weeks before we head off, so will keep you posted on the new designs.
Have a merry crimbo!
over and out!
